This whole pot isn't bad thing is getting out of hand. Rules are rules, you telling me it's okay for a neurosurgeon to come in high as a kite to do a surgery on your spine?
Because a football player smoking pot in the offseason is the exact same as a neurosurgeon getting high before surgery?
ETA - way to knock that straw man down

If I am a GM, owner, coach etc. I am definitely taking a chance on him. For the dinosaur front offices that are viewing pot from a caveman's perspective that will be their loss. Any progressive thinking front office would understand the leash on marijuana infractions is loosening every day. Even the NFL understands this and is slowly going to a more acceptable marijuana policy, and those doors will only open wider each year.

Above is an article from last year when the NFL changed their infractions and threshold for testing positive for THC. For those not wanting to read the whole article please take this commentary:
"It’s a small win for common sense. The NFL’s War on Weed is increasingly out of step with both medical science and the culture at large. By relaxing its marijuana policy, the NFL is better aligning itself with contemporary America"

I don't think anyone thinks this. You are twisting his poor example to make him look bad. I don't even think anyone is saying that they expect football players to show up to games high/drunk. Fact is that weed/drugs are against the rules. Regardless if it is legal to smoke, employers have the right to not allow it. The NFL doesn't allow it. He broke the rules and may end up missing out on multiple millions of dollars.
