I've done it from Venice to Panama City. Was an easy day trip in a 33 Bertram
Also know of some guys that did it from Grand Isle to Orange Beach in a offshore center console. Fished their way there and hung out on beach for concert and fished home.

Yea that sounds ideal; easy deal in larger boats but seems like the OP (and myself as well) is interested in doing it in a smaller boat. Guess we'd likely be inland already before the Destin pass so shouldn't be an issue. Thanks to those chiming in with experience in the area
