Will someone please answer my question as to what a respectable bicep curl on an EZ Bar is?
Posted on 3/26/15 at 3:19 pm to SabiDojo
Standing? Preacher?
When I was going all out, I was getting.. Hold a sec.. 125 for reps using a straight barbell. This was about 14 months ago, though.
..with the EZ bar, about 110lbs for reps about a year ago.
Both standing.
Preacher was about 110 for reps before hurting my shoulder on 3/26/14. There was a long break of 9 months before doing any preacher curls again.

don't know. I don't do EZ bar curls…I rarely do any bicep curls and when I do its like 3 sets of 10 for assistance work after the main lift at like 30lb dumbbells.
back in my day 15 years ago I was a bicep monster. I over trained them and could probably curl a house. After having my labrum surgery a few years back I don't push it too much with the bicep stuff

When I was around 185 I was could curl 135 on a straight barbell for maybe three reps. This was many years ago. On a preacher I guess 100? I always did either standing straight or on a preacher I've done db's. with one arm on a preacher I could do 45lb db for 6-8 reps at my best

+100 lbs....
I guess.
As long you are getting a pump and training, do what you can

yes. if you can't lift 100lbs on curls, just go in there and grab that 100lb barbell and keep trying until you can lift it.
CAN"T NEVER COULD!

If I was going to nationals to compete in my age/weight class, I would have needed another 100lbs or so to my total.
I moved offices further away from Fletcher's and the daily lunch commute/lifting was just too long, so I temporarily shut down the heavy 4-5/day per week heavy lifting.
We may move closer to Fletcher's soon so I may rejoin.

Fletcher's House of Power on Antioch near Tigerbend.
More weights than most full-sized gyms in an area 1/20th the size: 4 combo racks, 4 deadlift platforms, couple of squat cages, leg press, hack squat, DB area, and a bunch of other shite crammed into a place the size of a RadioShack.
Basically a powerlifters gym. 24 hours and you get a key with your membership. I was usually lifting with no one else in the place every day at noon.

Too far for me.
I work near College and I-10
I have to wait til 5 to hit the gym.
But every now and then, I'll catch a workout with some old LSU powerlifting teammates at the LSU rec.

It's cardio with resistance training so they gave it its own name to seperate the two.
Basically it's a circuit of 2-3 resistance exercises done in sequence with little to no break in between.
