The issue with homeowner weeeaters is they don't get ran daily like a lawn service one does.

Running 10 minutes a week for 15 weeks is harder on them than running balls out all day every day.

If you're a run it for 10 minutes a week guy, buying that premixed non ethanol gas they sell at hardware stores isn't a bad thing. That's some good stuff.

Ethanol free gas (or stabil at a minimum) should not have to be said. It's not like Ethanol gas was just introduced. Nonetheless, solid point.

I got a cheap arse refurb Ryobi powerhead from that Direct Tools at the outlets. I've run this thing on the premixed stuff for 3 years now and it still starts right up. I use it with a edger, blower, and pruning saw.

I have a 1991 model Shindaiwa T27 that runs great but I can't use the premixed stuff because it takes 25:1 ratio.

Either way I took my older John Deere weedeater to a small engine repair guy to have fixed a few years ago. He told me to throw it in the trash and just buy the cheap arse Ryoboi's. Use the premixed stuff, and when it goes bad just buy a new one. Said with the new non adjustable carbs that they are just throw aways for homeowners.

I have a sthil kombi system.

It combats the not running it enough problem because one motor runs my weedeater, edger, and pole saw.

I like it.
