Costa got the most hate and has the best case for it being accidental.

i honestly had never heard of stepping on someone called a stamp until i started following european soccer about a year or so ago.
If someone in the US said that in conversation it would sound extremely odd.

I dont know where back home is but it never gets said in the south.
I cant really comment on any other region to be honest.
It's honestly not a big deal at all. More bringing it up out of boredom. But anyone from Birmingham, AL who says stamp, or tie and is not referring to a tie score then they're just flat out trying too hard.

Who give a shite about semantics.
If we're talking american sports, should it not be "spiked". Thats the term I've always heard from track and baseball.

I will say I've heard of stamping your feet as in something a little kid does when he's mad. That said, keep fighting the good fight brother. So many nerds on here think it's okay to pretend to be British.

But an independent panel upheld the charge, and Skrtel will now miss Premier League games against Arsenal and Newcastle, and next month's FA Cup quarter-final replay at Blackburn.

The first of those matches could have a significant bearing on Liverpool's hopes of Champions League qualification given they go to the Emirates six points behind Arsenal and five shy of fourth-placed United
That Arsenal match just got extra juicy

Meh I guess.
We will bottle it I'm sure.
Lovren to step in a make a huge fricking mistake. Probably resulting in a Sanchez goal who we should have stepped up and bought.

No one is pretending to be British.
When every single news publication you read refers to it as a "stamp" one tends to repeat and write it as such.
But in reality, gold jacket? green jacket? Who gives a shite?
