Sure, last nights loss was a crushing one, and I was as disappointed as the next guy, but let's not forget what this tournament was about. Winning a tournament game is nice, but this year was really about experience. Now we have guys that have been there and played in a tight game on the biggest stage in college basketball, even if they did lose.
Next season guys like Patterson, Hornsby, Quarterman, and hopefully Martin and Mickey can come back and lead this team with experience. Even if we managed to escape last night, odds are it would've ended with a loss to Villanova. Hopefully this season served as a valuable lesson to our young Tigers that will be important come next March. If anything, the M&M boys now have more motivation to come back better than ever and finish what they started. So no, this is not a death knell for Tiger Basketball, it's a stepping stone to the future.

WTF. Dude in the modern era of one and done two and done Experience is overrated. LSU leads the free world in athletes getting the fuk out of BR as fast as they can.

Hey everyone, let's bash the OP because he said that a tough loss in the dance gives M&M motivation to come back.

Everything in his post was pretty accurate and you guys get hung up on a positive sentence he said and turn it negative. Typical butthurt tiger fan.

Last nights game was a reflection of this season. At times they play well enough to beat anyone and at other times they play poorly.

I don't think Martin is coming back but maybe Mickey. With him coming back and an improved Quarterman, Hornsby and Patterson along with Ben Simmons, Blakeney and hopefully Newman I can see us having a very successful year next season

Kind of a silly statement when the best basketball players never stick around long enough to employ that experience at the college level.

The team GOAL is to improve during the season. The first half and the second half of the game were mirror images of the season.

It is not unrealistic of fans to expect the team to improve, as making free throws and holding onto double digit leads.

If this game had been the only game like that for the whole season, then I would agree with you, but it was not. It was more of the same problems.

Now I hope the team that returns and the coaches learn something from this year...but I suspect we will be told that we should not expect our new recruits to play great ball because, well, they are freshman. Hope it isn't but we will see.
