Wait a sec, lemme ask Jesus.

Yep, frogs are hell-bound demon creatures. Jesus and my SO agree.

Holy shite, nothing is more annoying than Catholics talking about this shite. The creator of the universe really gives a shite what you eat, really. He's holding his breath right now wondering what advice you'll get and if you'll take it. Hell, the devil could be on this thread right now trying to piss the old boss off.

quote:

Abstinence The law of abstinence requires a Catholic 14 years of age until death to abstain from eating meat on Fridays in honor of the Passion of Jesus on Good Friday. Meat is considered to be the flesh and organs of mammals and fowl. Also forbidden are soups or gravies made from them. Salt and freshwater species of fish, amphibians, reptiles and shellfish are permitted, as are animal derived products such as margarine and gelatin which do not have any meat taste.

I don't get it either, I just do it. Also, the overindulgence adheres to the letter of this precept but not the spirit.

My granny has always told me because they live in water, they are considered not to be meat. Granny me the okay when I was younger, and she is always right, so I go with that.

I'm Catholic.

If I ate a steak instead of crawfish on Friday then I couldn't justify fricking my girlfriend out of wedlock. But I eat crawfish, so...

this is a combo Catholic/LDWF question. Since the LDWF classifies reptiles and amphibians under fish laws, as opposed to game, frogs are ok to eat on Fridays during lent.
