What's their style of play? Who have they beaten? Does LSU match up well against them?

NC State has beaten Duke, Louisville, UNC, Cuse
Common opponent in WVU that LSU beat and State lost to.
The teams play very different styles. State has a lot of inside depth to handle martin and mickey though.
My gut response is that State would win this matchup

They are a very good team that plays very well against better opponents just like us and loses games they should win . They have beaten NC, Louisville and Duke I think.

They can and have beaten some big time teams. They have also lost to more than a few bad teams as well. Does that remind you of anyone?
Also a nice coaching matchup for Jones. Neither one of the HC's should be invited to any coaching clinics

Guard dominated team, which doesn't bode well for LSU. 3-4 big men that rotate but aren't big scoring threats. They love to play up-tempo if you let them. Beat Duke, UNC and Louisville and had Notre Dame on the ropes. But also laid some real eggs, getting dominated by some of the worst teams in the conference. Very much like LSU in that they can beat anyone and can also lose to anyone.

The Tigers got a tough draw. But that's what happens when you lose to crap teams.

Whoever shows up in the P&G unis will make the difference. Your guess is as good as mine..

Doesn't matter.
What matters is what LSU team will show up. If it's the one that took UK down to the wire no one can touch us.

As a dual fan of LSU and also UNC, I can kinda give an overview of NCSU. They have a lot of talent, but they are wildly inconsistent. They beat the Heels in Chapel Hill and Duke at home, but have also been curb stomped in some games.
Our guards will have to play really tight on Ralston Turner and Trevor Lacey. Both are great shooters. Also Anthony Barber loves to drive so we have to keep him out of the lane. I'm assuming TQ will guard Turner, JP on Barber, and Hornsby on Lacey. Hornsby will have his hands full because Lacey is a well rounded player but I think he's up to the challenge.
We definitely have an advantage in the front court though. M&M should be able to control the boards if they play hard. NCSU only has one real threat at big man in BJ Anya but he's 6'8 at most so he shouldn't give us too many problems.
Overall I think we have a 50/50 shot of advancing. It'll come down to playing good defense and pushing the tempo. Mickey has to get out of his slump and Josh Gray will have to play some good, turnover free minutes for us.
Hope my first post on the Rant gives y'all a good idea of what we're up against. It's good to see LSU basketball relevant again! Geaux Tigers baby.

Both teams tend to play to the level of their competition and get up for the big games. Both will be up. Hate to put it on the shoulders of one player; but if Mickey comes up big, we win. If both teams play to their best, it should be close and is a very good match-up by the committee.
