Just playing devils advocate here, but the story we heard about the trade was that Jimmy wasn't offered until Seattle specifically asked if he was off the table, and Loomis said no. If he HAD TO GO, then wouldn't his name have been the first name out of Loomis' mouth? What we heard is that they offered two other guys before they got to Jimmy.

You may be right, just saying this story runs kinda counter to what we heard about how the trade went down.

Well we called looking to get Unger and it's pretty clear one of the receivers offered was Stills as we were definitely looking to dump him.

But that doesn't mean we wouldn't have eventually traded Graham to another team. It was just the first move we made. Getting a 1st plus the player they wanted was a steal. Adding in the 4th made it a little more even.

And this could very well be where the 4th hand info possibly comes into play.

My bro-in-law's use of those words could just be his own emphatic interpretation of what he heard and how my bro-in-law perceived how SP had to handle the situation.

But those were the words told to me tonite.

But if you were a good horse trader, you wouldn't show your hand too early. Jimmy G would not have been offered up first, they would have been a bit suspicious.

Loomis made it happen.

yeah this narrative was much stronger before we found out that we approached SEA for unger, and we initially offered cooks/stills

the narrative does not fit anymore once we find that out

The story of offering two receivers first my have just been an attempt to not make Jimmy look bad in the public eye.
