You were saying??
If anything, this makes getting another vet receiver a much bigger need.

He's only 30 years old. That's not old for anyone other than maybe running back. Speed and durability are the biggest issues with older players. Bowe has only missed 10 games his entire career - and only 2 the last 2 years. So if he can still ball then hell yes Saints should see what he wants. He might want to play for a team with a legit qb who can actually throw him the ball.

Or you under the impression that you have to take the complete cap hit in 1 year or something? We can backload the contract with a nice signing bonus to spread it out (or frontload it, as only you would say)
Ok so you're going out multiple years and not counting the caps of the players that we pick up to replace them or got through trade. How do you stay in this constant state of delusion?

Bowe is too much like Colston. I like the Saints signing Tigers, but his price tag is way too high anyway

Finding the root of Bowe's struggles is like the chicken and egg argument: it's hard to tell if Bowe fared poorly because of Alex Smith or if it was the other way around.
let see
Bowe had 3 1000+ yard season in the 5 years before Smith got there (and 995 yards in one of those seasons)
Smith has never been in the top half of th league in passing yards, and has only thrown more the 20 touchdowns once.
This isn't a chicken and the egg. This is the wheel and the car.
Any WR with multiple 1000 yard seasons with the QBs that Bowe has had is pretty decent.

Yes, FA contracts tend to be more than just 1 year.

So subtract $9 million for Unger and you're still left with a whole lot of room.
Not to mention we had more cuts than just this.
Saints have plenty of flexibility to sign free agents

You once again offer nothing to back up what you said. Saying that the saints don't have the money to sign the guy is absurd at this point and shows a complete lack of understanding of the salary cap and our current contracts
Saints have, at a minimum, $30+ million available next year in cap space, and have the 5th least active spending for the 2017 season at just $50 million. We have $21 million in dead money coming off after this year

loved this rotoworld sarcasm...
According to ESPN's Adam Caplan, the Browns have "strong interest" in free agent WR Dwayne Bowe.
If the Browns sign Bowe to "complement" Brian Hartline on the perimeter, their inability to score touchdowns would be downright terrifying for opposing field goal units. Browns placekicker Garrett Hartley could have a huge year. Mar 13 - 11:54 AM

-and yes, that Garrett Hartley in scenic Cleveland
