What do you use to keep the gas pumping when the lever is broken?

I always pick the wrong damn pump.

Gas cap, but my truck doesn't have a cap. I use a 20oz water bottle now when I encounter this in my truck.

I just grab a beer can out the back of the truck and crumble it up to the right size.

I've used an assortment of things over the years, but lately I've been getting gas at Costco. Don't have to worry about that there so far.

I used to have a wooden crawfish paddle in the back of my truck that worked really good. I've also used ratchet straps. I can't think of anything else, but if it was in the back of my truck at the time, it was probably used or attempted.

You would rather spend the time to find something to hold it when you have two perfectly good hands?

My hand, but I set it on fire immediately afterward for five whole seconds to kill the disgusting germs/bacteria that crawled onto it during those 15 gallons of pumping. I use a slushy as an extinguisher.

I used to use the gas cap itself...however, recently, I went to grab the handle and a large arc of static electricity popped from my finger to the handle. there is absolutely no reason that shouldn't have ignited and burned the shite out of me...

I will never let go of a pump handle again while filling a vehicle...

I keep a tennis ball in the console to hold the gas pump.
