Rose played 8800 minutes his first 3 seasons plus 1200 playoff minutes. If you BREF MP first 3 years regular season, LeBron, Rose, Durant are top 30 and the only "modern" NBA (depending on how you feel about Elton Brand) guys in that group. Not a great sign that Durant and Rose are breaking down right now. LeBron is a freak and even he took a couple of weeks off.
Longer postseason is adding entire seasons to careers. Guys can't rest on defense the way they could in previous eras. Too much demanded of them. Plus, these are 19 yos, not fully grown men. They can play and play very well at this level, but the regular season is grueling.
Thibs is without question a far, far superior coach to Monty. If they could get him to agree to minutes restrictions, I'm all about it. If not, I don't know if I pull the trigger. I want to do everything to keep Davis healthy for the next decade and deep playoff runs, not just extra regular season wins.
