Meh - I write a lot for work so in a way yes, but for the non-writing portion, my degree has not really prepared me. Regardless of degree, most college grads don't know wtf they're in for until they get some work experience, which is why internships and part-time job experience is so valuable when the time comes to apply for your first real big boy/big girl job.

yes.......it has had a far higher return than a grad degree.
Did it take you another 2-4 years? I'm thinking about going back for a second bachelor's (maybe in geology followed by a geology master's).

2-3 years.....could've been 2 but I screwed around and had a 2nd college experience;)
Geology is so dependent on energy trends, but an engineering (mine is Civil) is much more steady.
May want to consider Accounting. My wife is in it, and I had no idea how many are balling in that! Hustlers can make sick money, but the hours are brutal.
I now manage an office for my firm and do quite well. Granted, 95%+ of engineering grads will not be in my role......I'm a good salesman
