Other than Anti-Inflamatories and pain meds have they prescribed you anything like Lyrica or Neurotin?
I was on Neurotin in the hospital and for the first 3 weeks before they switched me to Lyrica. It works better the Neurotin but neither takes all the pain away. Hot water is the best thing I've found for the pain when I get tired of dealing with it.

When my Sciatic Nerve was inflamed the only way I could get it to calm down was with a heating pad.
I had a heating pad wrapped around my calf and sweat pants on.Extension cord hanging out the bottom.
I was taking 30 mg oxycontin 2 x a day then.I was begging them to increase it.
They told it wouldn't help with the nerve pain.
It sure wouldn't have hurt.
