I've owned this film since 2005, but I've never watched it. Finally did today, it was slow but parts were really funny like him stealing the wallet back. I think i liked it.

I want to-but I have such a hard time watching Paul Giamatti. I can't explain it, but he just makes me uncomfortable. Silly but true.

I laughed pretty hard when Thomas Haden Church explains Giamatti's behavior at the vineyard with "His mom died"

I saw it when it first came out on dvd and thought it was pretty boring as did my friends. May need to watch it again someday.

I'M NOT DRINKING A frickING MERLOT.
True story: many vineyards from Napa Valley to Tuscany credit the international downturn of the merlot market in the last decade specifically to this movie.

Congrats on finally watching one of the top 10 movies of the last 20 years.

A great movie i enjoy now in my 30s. I dont think i would have liked it in my 20s. Its a great lesson that when things get you down like a divorce or loss of job, there will always be plenty of other things to live for. The important thing is to keep your head held high, your relationships with others strong, and try not to stay down too long. Keep fighting for what you deserve...and never, ever, drink merlot.
