I got some good input from some avid runners the other day saying that Asics, Brooks, and New Balance.

Avoid the major brands like Nike.

I hated my Hokas. Returned them bastards.

I run in Kinvaras but I am about to order some Altra Trail shoes to switch it up.

What Ultra are you running tomorrow?

bad advice.

Nike's technical shoes like the Pegasus and structure (stability) are both really good. The adidas boost are also really good shoes. It's all just dependant on what works for your foot.
