No way would I do a community deal. We have 3-4 guys who can deal and 10-12 drunks who I don't want taking 30 minutes to play 1 hand.

If you've got lots of capable dealers just put 2 on opposite sides and swap every hour.

If you want it to be a friendly game and allow for new people I'd definitely have people come in at a lower option than $100 to start. If people are starting out buying in $400 what happens when your buddy loses QQ to AA for $400 in the first 20 minutes, and is in for $800 by 8:30.

I'm always prepared with at least 5 max buy-ins so for your game I'd need to bring $2k.
