My SO suffers from chronic Migraines and we are getting to wits in and running out of options. We have run though pretty much all the treatment options available with limited or no success. From Imitrex, Maxalt, Zomig, Topimax, to DHE therapy, to the botox injections, etc.

Does anyone knew of any doctors in the South that seem to know what they are doing with this or any experimental programs etc?

Most of my family suffers from migraines, Topimax and Imitrex in all med. cabinets. The best thing I have seen calm migranes is a big bowl of ice water to soak a small towel in then fold and rest over eyes and forehead. Re cool with ice water periodically as needed. Good luck, migraines suck

Dr. Steven Zuckerman - absolute best in BR. Wife has been suffering for 20+ years and has seen almost all neurologists in BR.

That sucks. Had them growing up. No meds ever worked. I would go crash on the floor in the bathroom (no windows or light) until I threw up. Then I was good to go. Kinda just grew out of them I guess. Used to have one or two a week as a kid. Now I maybe have one or two a year. Good luck finding something.

I see Dr Amer Awad. Been suffering for years. Been taking verapamil and it has helped me. If they have been suffering a long time and they have been taking lots of meds they could be having rebound headaches. Might have to go through a detox. It fricking sucks

I've had them since I was a teenager. I've been on all of the prescription meds. They'd work for a while and then quit. Now, I take 2 BC powders with coke or coffee and then Excedrin migraine 2 hours later. It works, but it's terrible for your stomach.

My wife has chronic migraines.

She takes Nortriptyline on a daily basis. Also, when migraines become unbearable she has a prescription "cocktail" consisting of Hydrocodone, Zofran and Benadryl. Pounds the water during the flare ups as well.

Going into a dark room and trying to sleep is the only thing that works for me. Sometimes BC's and Goody's powders help.
