I actually don't hate the seeding. The only outliers look to be Frozen and Snow White being so high. But it looks like a damn good bracket.

Terrible idea.

And Snow White as number 1 pick is a joke
It's high for sure, but I wouldn't call it a "joke". You're talking about a movie that changed movies forever. It deserves to be top 5.

Casablanca wouldn't be a great movie by today's standards if people put aside their nostalgia and biases toward it. But it's a top 5 movie of all time because of how iconic it is. Not much difference here.

Some sort of seeding is better. Who wants Lion King vs. Toy Story in Round 1? This is what happened with the Comic Book Tourney and that ruined some great runs and lead to some weird matchups.

i mis-spoke. i meant to shuffle them completely by not categorizing the quadrants. they should still be seeded 1-16 by some method. i agree a first round toy story vs lion king would be a disaster.

Categorizing helps. It's a well-known tactic to handle the "best of" arguments. I like it much more than any other method of seeding because we get. "best of" renaissance, cgi/pixar, classic, live-action. It's nice to have those too.

My kids still enjoy watching this classic as much as any other Disney movie out there. And I think Snow White should be given the number one seed in that bracket--it's the classic that started it all.

I appreciate its place in film history, but I really don't think Snow White would fly if it were released today in its exact form, not in a post-Beauty and the Beast world. I just think Snow White is shallow and stupid, and there is no development whatsoever in the love story, and I get that the dwarfs are caricatures, but I don't think any of the characters are among Disney's true greats. Both Lady Tremaine and Maleficent are much better antagonists than the Queen, and more intimidating. And for all we know, the prince who kisses Snow White may be as bad as Gaston. Again, I appreciate the movie, but I get little enjoyment out of it besides its place in film history.

I can agree with that. I don't particularly like Snow White either when compared to more recent movies from Disney, even compared to Sleeping Beauty. But it is a trendsetter and it was advanced for it's time. There was no movie like it when it came out and it really was a cornerstone for the rest of the Disney franchise to be built on

I hope not.

As far as seeding them, I think we should use IMDB's rankings as which seed each should be.
