The most famous orthopedic surgeon in the world who has performed surgery on, in part:
Carlos Beltran, C.C. Sabathia, Jamaal Charles,Jim Wall, Tom Brady,[7]Albert Pujols, Matt Harvey, Michael Jordan, Jack Nicklaus, Emmitt Smith, John Smoltz, Troy Aikman, Ivan Nova, Josh Johnson, Charles Barkley, Roger Clemens, Drew Brees,[8] Reggie Bush, Andrei Markov, Bo Jackson, Adrian Peterson, Hope Solo, Marcus Lattimore, Robert Griffin III, Brett Favre, Ryan Broyles, Rajon Rondo, Mark Sanchez, Michael Morse, Jonny Venters, Nerlens Noel, Rickie Weeks, Sam Bradford, Braxton Miller, Dave Batista, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, John Cena, Edge, Randy Orton, CM Punk, Matt Moore, Lindsey Vonn,[9] Brian Cushing, Navorro Bowman, Kiko Alonso, James 'Jimmy Greek' Theofilos and Rob Gronkowski.[10]
I mean "Better than Ezra" Rock, but come on, no room in an LSU spot for this guy? What gives?

Because he's been claimed by Alabama.

Come on Snakebucket...
his renown is state-dependent. Definitely not a household name.

His son went to LSU, so it isn't like he is anti-LSU. I think I read his daughter went to Ole Miss though

He's not an LSU fan for whatever reason it seems. He has season tickets to Auburn and Alabama.
Good write up about him in ESPN The Magazine about a year ago and it seemed like his time at LSU was a blip to him.

You forgot to mention my name in this thread. Just cause I didn't make the big leagues you left me off.
But seriously he is the most down to earth guy ever and treated me like I feel like he would treat Drew Brees.

I heard he went to med school in Bama...

He did the commencement address at the LSUHSC graduation in New Orleans four years ago. Very inspirational speaker, and I'm confient a tiger fan at some level.
from Homer LA
LSU Undergrad
Tulane Med School
Univeristy of Virginia Residency
I wonder how he ended up in Alabama. I guess he got recruited by a hospital or group there, or maybe it was a woman.

Andrews did my ACL surgery too when he was still at Healthsouth in Birmingham. Nice guy and yes, he is the very best ortho out there. I met Clemens while I was rehabbing. He was in for Tommy John.

He's a gump. To hell with him

He's definitely on Bamas sidelines for their games.

everyone, slow your roll.
i think that he was even advertised as an LSU alum during a home game this year. what's with the freak-outs?
and yes, he's the team ortho for bama. do you guys expect him to fly to LSU for every game or something? he's a sports medicine guy -it's pretty standard for those in that field to work with the nearest team(s).

Dr. Andrews and his son were in the same fraternity as me at LSU. His son was 5 years older than me and a very cool guy. We hung around a few times after I was done with pledge-dom.
I remember hearing about his dad and their crew back in their day. Someone around his age rode a horse through the quad and supposedly into the library during a certain party week. I also remember hearing that that age group was still tight and in contact with each other.
Re LSU: undergrad, pole vaulter, fraternity, had undoubted good times & made lifelong friends, son went to LSU and in same fraternity... I think its safe to say he is a tiger.
If anything its too bad his practice didn't end up in Louisiana..

Didn't Ole Miss claim him as a co-graduate in 2003?

Dr Andrew's grew up in Homer LA. His mother was choir director of the Methodist church. He played on high school football team, many of whom would go to play for LSU.
He served as team doctor for Auburn. Also gave much time to Eddie Robinson and Gambling football team. That is a great story someone needs to write. Many will want to claim Jimmy but he will always be a LA Tiger.

Andrews played a huge role in helping Drew Brees after his injury at San Diego.

It's hard to claim those who don't claim you. He took his talent and his ball and left the field.
