Not so subtle brag but I am a physician and routinely take care of patients with varying degrees of shoulder injuries and have myself suffered a shoulder injury which I still have occasional issues with today (granted I'm not an elite athlete). Returning too soon can certainly increase the severity of the injury with continued use instead of rest as we've seen in AD's case.

Hollinger has us sitting at 12.9% to make the playoffs. If the Pels make it they would face Golden State. My contention is that if AD's re-injury was severe enough (3-4 weeks+) maybe they shut him down through the season to minimize risk of re-injury in meaningless games. Yeah I know experience goes a long way but is it worth an offseason shoulder arthroscopy or rotator cuff repair?

I'm a big Pels fan and sat 3 rows up and across from David Stern at their inaugural game in 2002 when I still lived in NOLA. I posted the topic to see what fans who may be more plugged in than me thought about it should AD's injury cause him to miss significant time.
