It would suck to watch Pels games without him but let's be realistic: OKC has won two games out of the ASB and really improved their interior with the Kanter trade. If Durant gets healthy they are probably 90-10 to get the 8th seed at a minimum. We thought the Clips might slip some with Griffin being out but they are also 2-0 out of the break. Even if the Pels secured the 8th seed we don't really match up with GS very well and it would be the upset of the century if we won that series.

AD is this franchise and one of the superstars in this league. Why risk further damage to his shooting shoulder? Why bring him back too quickly for a long shot at a playoff spot and a likely first round bounce?

Why shut him down for an injury that doesn't require that long? That is beyond stupid. He just has a shoulder sprain (as of now) and it is probably a grade 1 or 2 and those heal on there own with RICES (rest, ice, compression, and elvation or immobilization). Depending on the results of the mri, x-ray, ct, etc they should shut him down for a week to 10 days IMO, but I am just spitballing since I do not have access to the test results.

This just doesn't seem like the type of injury that gives me long term concerns. It's his shoulder, not his knee.

Bring him back when he's fully healthy. That will be far before the end of the season though. while I don't expect us to make the playoffs either, the rest of the season is valuable experience for AD and the rest of the team regardless of whether we make the playoffs or not. And if we do make the playoffs, it's even more valuable experience for AD that he can build on for the future when we will be competing for championships

No, it seems like we've rested him tons over the last few years as precautions for short spurts. The guy is apparently going to get hurt regardless. Besides, we can shut him down and he get hurt next season as well. You cant be scared to play AD and I think you run a real risk of driving him away if he spends half his career on the bench for precautions. I'm not advocating playing him with a significant injury, just take the kid gloves off.

Time to fire the whole medical staff... They must be bad luck. But in reality, you're trying to show improvement to keep AD past restricted contract. Absolutely no point to shut it down, when you don't have a pick
