OK so he "only" banked about 2.7-3M$, the rest of your ASSUMPTION is silly--as is any statement with words like "would' 'had he," which translates to "if".

Fact is, dude has cash in the bank, not potential cash in the bank.

If you fail to make it in MLB, how likely are you to be a first round draft pick in NFL?

Such players are tool old. Unless they have incredible 2,3 years in college, they may hold the clipboard for a while and start a football academy somewhere.

Johnny Football got a total contract of $8.2 million, Bridgewater's contract was for $6.8 million.

So taking $5.5 million four years ago was by far the smart play.
