Moving the student section to the baseline wasn't a great move for the atmosphere, but I'm sure it help generate a few more $$$$ by being able to sell those seats at a premium. Playing more piped in music would be fine, but I don't think that in and of itself will significantly help the atmosphere. When it's all said and done the atmosphere is dependent on one thing, winning.

Sustained success = larger crowds = more raucous atmosphere. Until that happens you can bring out all the bells and whistles you want, it won't make much of a difference. There was no piped in music in the 80's, yet it was one the best basketball atmosphere's around. You can figure out why

The problem is not the location of the student section, since many student sections are located on the visiting teams side for the 2nd half. The problem is squeezing the band and the media there as well. Shove the media in the upper deck, why waste tickets on them? The upper deck wouldn't be a bad place for the band either being you can hear them anywhere in the building.
