We (Dad mostly) have 14 single family and a 6 unit apartment. We have to use a manager for most of them due to location. The ones that are local we do ourselves. I'm the handiman most of the time. If its something we need a pro for, we have a few companies / individuals that have done good work for us in the past that we call.

Nope. He owns his own small Architecture firm. It's probably 50/50. He's got a small crew to do most of the big construction and when I was in College he had me too. lol. He is also a GC, so he does all of the work himself.

He does pretty well for himself.
But he got there all on his own man. We were no where near well-off growing up. He and my mom lived in a 1,000 sf house for 20 years of which I spent 12. I remember the first property he ever built was a duplex. He put dishwashers in them. We didn't even have a dishwasher at the house. He told me the reason that he and my mom struggled early on in their careers is so we didn't have to.
