Galette, Graham, Byrd, and possibly Lofton's numbers are going to come down ($10 mil in Galette's case).

Hawthorne, Bunkley, and one of Evans or Grubbs should go (or take massive pay cuts).

Edit:
Colston's number should come down too.

Jahri Evans, Hawthorne, and Bunkley need to go. The money they get for their production is laughable. Bunkley did ok against the run, but he isn't worth it. While Humber wasn't great last year...he wasn't much worse than Hawthorne and he makes much less money. Hopefully we can convince Colston, Grubbs, and Lofton to take a little paycut.

LOL lets revisit this thread post Brees and see how bad things can really get.

Youth movement does not always = Getting better.

Last year we had gotten rid of a lot of overpaid vets and you see how that went. Just imagine what happens when you try and push out Brees, Graham, and all these other "overrated/overpaid" guys some of you claim them to be.

You can bitch all you want about the Brees contract, but the fact of the matter is its a borderline steal given what these guys are making now. Guys like Cutler, Kapernick, and Dalton are getting paid ridiculous money and don't even equal a quarter of Brees production.

Drew-Stays, with a little protection in the middle and a #1WR and his production jumps back up
Jr-Stays, still not yet in his prime, he could be humbled a bit more though
Jimmy-stays, he's tough to keep playing while injured but yet he does seem to be injured quite often and he would get that money else where
Jahri-cut, sorry Jahri but the last 2 years your production has gone down and your price has gone up
Byrd-stays obviously, can't wait to see him healthy and hopefully Ryan & Dennis Allen can maximize his abilities and Vaccaro's potential
Colston-cut, or shred his contract up and have him take a pay cut to about half of what he is making now...I love Colston as much as any Saints fan, but he is not a #1WR anymore and that's what this team has been missing the last 2 years
Grubbs-cut, has not earned his contract since he signed here
Lofton, stays
Jordan- stays obviously
Bunkley- cut, should never have been given that big of a contract
Hawthorned- cut, should have never been given that big of a contract

Cutting Evans saves $6m
Cutting Grubbs saves $3.6M
Cutting Bunkley saves $2.9M
Cutting Hawthorne saves $3M
That's $15.5M right there, and then see what can be done with Colston's contract, or possibly cut him and save $4.3M

Honestly if you take their names away and just look at their production, stats, and PFF scores then it would be an easy decision to cut Evans, Grubbs, Bunkley and Hawthorne without thinking twice....And looking at their production, it really wouldn't be very hard to match that production through a decent draft and much much cheaper free agents.......The real question is Colston...He's still producing sure, but he's not beating the defense's best CB anymore, he's not being a true #1WR anymore, so it all depends on if he would be willing to take a pay cut, which I hope he does

Drew Brees $26,400,000 - yes
Junior Galette $15,450,000 - yes
Jimmy Graham $11,000,000 - no
Jahri Evans $11,000,000 - possibly
Jairus Byrd $10,300,000 - possibly
Marques Colston $9,700,000 - no
Ben Grubbs $9,600,000 - yes
Curtis Lofton $9,250,000 - yes
Cameron Jordan $6,969,000 - yes
Brodrick Bunkley $6,112,500 - yes
David Hawthorne $6,010,000 - no

If we add a center who is slightly above average, which we haven't had in 4 years, and a star possession receiver, we'd be the best in the league again.
