Why is Haley available? After former defensive coordinator John Chavis left the Tigers to head to College Station, Haley suffered a demotion when head coach Les Miles hired noted recruiter Ed Orgeron for the position Haley occupied for so long.

However, Orangebloods is also reporting that the Oklahoma Sooners could be a contender for Haley as well. Defensive line coach Jerry Montgomery only spent two years in Norman and earned a promotion to co-defensive coordinator back in early January, but a job offer from the Green Bay Packers was too much to turn down.

Haley could be a top target for the Sooners for all the same reasons he's considered the top target for Texas -- because he has an extensive record of developing defensive line talent and an impressive history of land top prospects on the recruiting trail.

This will end up happening exactly like I thought. Id bet money they told him if he accepts a position before NSD his buyout is in place and if he leaves after, theyll waive it.

I really do feel bad for Brick. Really rooting for him and this UT gig sounds perfect for him.

I don't see it. Our Dline talent went down on his and chiefs watch.
