Arden Key is going to be a star. I think he's overlooked on the recruiting services. Should be a 5*.

Brossette and Day on O.

Toliver and Key on D.

Donte will be Trindon Holliday meets PP7 on ST.

Also think Weathersby will be a 3 year starter and be better than La'el.

Can I just point out that everyone is calling this class "amazing" despite the fact that it has the fewest 4 star or better players since 2012 and the 2nd fewest we've ever gotten under Miles?

Fewest 4 stars or better according to which service?

Based on the 247 composite, LSU has 13 4-stars or better, more they got than in 2005, 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2011. So its the 6th fewest they've gotten under Miles, or slightly better than average.

McMillian and Fournette are the only non-TE or special teams guys not ranked as 4-stars by at least one service.

We were gutted up the middle on the reg and our QB situation is dire but you say our biggest needs include Running back!!!

Then the need for lb and DT. But IMO were way down the list.
LOL. There's not much of a need for great cover corners if they can gut you up the middle.

Really think Arden Key is going to be the answer to our pass rush woes. Really believe he will be a top 15 draft pick.

On offense, I think Guice will go down as a great one.

If I'm playing LSU's defense, I'm planning to run off guard until it's proven I can't. I wouldn't brain fart like Wisky did and suddenly forget that my running back was abusing LSU up the middle.

Our DL situation is scary but not in the good way.

Not really, Valentine and LMFAO have both been in the system and should provide some beef in the middle, Godchaux and LaCouture have been solid, new blood in coaching, I can see them improving tremendously this year

Foster Moreau is not the most talented member of this class, but he does have ability and (apparently)a burning desire to play for LSU. I think he will work harder than any one else in this year's class and find a way to contribute.

We have just 2 scholarship RBs on roster in LF and D Williams... Considering that + the way we run the football, Yeah I would say RB is a pretty damn big need.

DJ Welter started 6 games last year for us... against Wisconsin, Sam Houston St,ULM, Miss St, New Mexico St, and Auburn. In those 6 games, opponents had 228 carries for 1,106yards and 9 TDs with a 4.8ypc. Per game, 38 carries for 184.3yards and 1.5 TDs..

Beckwith started the final 7 games.... against Florida, UK, Ole Miss, Bama, Arkansas, TAMU, and ND. In those 7 games, opponents had 232carries for 879yards and 7 TDs for a 3.7ypc. Per game, 33.1 carries for 125.5yards and 1 TD.

Thats a difference of 60ypg, 1.1ypc, and half a TD. All because we finally put Beckwith in the game over Welter. And considering we made a change at the MLB spot and not the DL, that tells me that our run D early on was not mainly because of the DL.

Were we "gutted up the middle" in the first 6 games? Yes. Absolutely. The final 7 games (which didnt have a cupcake like 3 of the first 6 games) we were most def not gutted up the middle.

Based off what our opponents averaged with Welter as the starting MLB, we were right around 88-90 in the nation vs the run. With Beckwith, we were 19-21 in the nation. And the games Beckwith started in were against way better opponents.

We werent gutted up the middle with Beckwith in the game. We were actually pretty damn stout vs the run. We return 2/3 starting LBers, including Beckwith, and have the same DTs as this past season, who were very young for the most part and improved as the season progressed, + Valentine.

Keep on complaining about a top 5 class in the entire country though.

I can't get over this class. This really paves the way to focus on a few major positions of need next year.

Should be a great haul of defensive tackles, linebackers a Qb (or 2 ) and of course a few pickups to replenish our deep depth. Let's not.stop here! Here's to unleashing ed ogeron for a full year!

Great Class. Watched Ducre, will play under the radar for four years, start three. Watched Moreau several games, big, driven and has glue hands, a Jimmy Graham in the making!

I am gonna go with Taeuhuma (sp? to lazy to google it) He will be a man among boys and though he may not get the recognition. he will pave the way for our good RB's and end up being a first round NFL pick

I think this is true everywhere. it's hard to evaluate the OL in high school. that's why I think we should take 4 or 5 every year.

I think the easy choice is Toliver - he's got amazing measureables, seems to have the intangibles and LSU has over the past 12, 15 years or so, seems to do the very best with this position group, even ahead of our WRs, RBs and DLinemen - both DBs, generally, and cornerbacks, particularly.

Big corners are a at a premium. If he stays in school, stays off drugs and follows the program - I see big things and a huge payday for Tolliver in just 3 or 4 short years - plus numerous "All Star" lists and watch lists for annual awards.
