I still don't understand why we are going hard after CBs. We have 6 on roster and 2 more who will sign on NSD. Even if you say Lewis will be a safety, 7 is enough for a 2 man rotation, 3rd string for both spots, plus a nickel corner. Then Lewis will play down at nickel if we happen to need him (this is assuming he gets moved to safety).

We also have the # 4, 5, and 6th CBs highly interested in us next year as well as the #1 CB, who they say is Hargreaves level good in his knowledge of the position.

Because our CBs on the roster are unproven and we don't know of they are any good outside of White.

Thomas-hes a nickel and I'm not sure he can cover all game long

Paris-no experience and many still believe he's a S. Is he ready to cover all game long?

Gage-we know absolutely nothing about him or if he can cover

Mills-is he a CB or S? Only guy I trust opposite of White currently on the roster and he isn't elite.

Now the freshmen

Toliver-wouldnt be surprised if he starts day one.

Lewis-is he a CB or a S? Is he ready to play every down or big snaps?

Cutrer-is he a CB and is he gonna make it in?

Jackson-better be ready because we need him to be.

This is why we are still pursuing CBs. Our depth is all numbers at this point and since Raymond has seen these kids for a year he knows what they are capable of and he still wants CBs. That tells me some of the guys on the roster aren't ready, aren't good enough or aren't CBs.

Who you have on your roster has almost nothing to do with it. When these recruits are experienced enough to be relied upon we will no longer have those other guys on our roster.

Every year we are burned by having to rely on inexperienced talent. This year would have been a championship contending team if we had an experienced QB, DTs, and MLB. But three years ago some were probably posting that we don't need DTs because Bennie Logan was on the roster. Well, where the heck is Bennie now?

Our top need right now, based on who has already committed, is DT and LB. But people will post that it's DE because we lost our starters. DE is a need, but at least we have one committed. We have zero DTs! In three years we will be starting our 2016 recruits because we have no one else. We'll be lucky indeed if they are ready.

IMO, we typically lose DBs after 3 years. Here's the attrition looking at this season and next.

T White
R Jefferson
J Collins (already gone)
R Robinson (grades)
J Mills
D Thomas (likely if he stays healthy)
and two roster guys (graduated)

Didn't you hear? We are moving to a 4-1-6 defense next season. "We don't need no stinking LBs"
