There is no good place to mount a plate on the rear of a dump truck that hauls asphalt (for example) that would permit the palate to be readable after two or three loads. Concrete mixer trucks, dirt haulers, etc. to a lesser degree but the construction lobby is strong enough to get and keep this exception.

why not screwed directly to the dump gate?sure it will get beat up,but still readable.
