I just watched this documentary last night.

I really liked the Jefferson Bourbon guys on the doc and their takes on bourbon. I was curious what the F&D board's thoughts were on Jefferson Bourbon?

Also, what would be a good recommendation for a bourbon under $100 for a novice bourbon drinker to begin with.

I know there is a Whiskey/Bourbon thread, but it's over 750 pages long, so was hoping to get a few quick recommendations on this post.

Eagle Rare. Purchased a bottle for $27 last night. Weller 12 is also very good inexpensive staple.

I don't like all of the Jefferson offerings, but I like most of them.

Eagle Rare, Four Roses, Blantons, and Bulleit are some of my favorites

I keep Makers Mark, Buffalo Trace, Elijah Craig, & Four Roses stocked for daily drinkers. All around 30-40.
ETA: I started with Makers, its a little sweeter than the rest.

I've only had the Jefferson's Ocean. It was good, but for the price I have others I prefer.

either one of these will make you a happy man

I enjoyed it. Although I don't seem to find it very often.
