They also teach side mirror adjustment wrong. There is zero point to seeing the side of your own car in the side mirror. It fricking creates the blind spot.

10 & 2 was taught before airbags became standard equipment.
4 & 8 is the proper positions to hold the steering wheel to avoid broken bones in the thumb or wrist when the airbag deploys.
I have personal experience and two surgeries as proof of 10 & 2 being the wrong way to hold onto the steering wheel.
