Anyone know about the facilities at any of the Big West schools near Los Angeles? I'm talking like UC-Irvine, UC-Santa Barbara, UC-Riverside, LBSU, UC-Northridge, etc? Seems like those programs should be pretty competitive given the talent at their disposal in the LA area.

Nobody cares about sports so you wouldn't have to work too hard. Everyone is there to get fricked up and bang hot women. It's a dream job.

Xavier Musketeers. For sure. They have a beautiful campus, and they have some basketball history.

Plus you're in New Orleans.

SLU is private so sometimes can't get kids in but they have new arena which I think hurt more than helps.

I went to the LaTech-Iona game in last year's NIT, and the Gaels had a nice team.

If we are talking about on the court tradition and facilities, id say Gonzaga. They have a great following and winning tradition.

1. Gonzaga

2. VCU
3. Wichita St
4. Dayton
5. Xavier

Wichita is not a great place for long term. If they ever decide to spend money right then yes.

But there are 3 MVC programs I would choose before the Shox

ILS
UNI
Bradley

Can't believe no one has mentioned Butler. Great proximity to the right kind of recruits and a great basketball tradition.

As much as I hate Bradley I am glad to see they forced the president to "retire." Only a matter of time until their AD goes. As an ISU fan I am rooting for them to turn it around.

That president screwed all the school up. Trying to make it where they were Chicago U south and not play on school nights etc.

Bradley has a great tradition I don't despise them like I do UNI or Wichita but there's a strong disdain.

I was on bench when Thomas hit the wrong way turn around throw it straight in at Arch Madness.

We'll call mid-major these conferences:
A-10, CAA, C-USA, Horizon, MAC, MVC, MWC, WCC, and WAC.

VCU. I don't know why I just like VCU.

ETA: Where would you place the American? I mean, UConn, Memphis, and Cincinnati are there, but they are certainly placed amongst a bunch of mid-majors

Too early to tell. They need a few more season and if they average 4 or more tourny teams a season and have no raiding I would put them with the big boys.

That was an exciting game. It's a shame someone had to lose. I would like to see them start a home/away series. Both are very up-tempo teams, but I guess distance would be a problem. I think La. Tech has a very good young coach.

Gaels just won at Madison Square Garden 87-64 following the Duke/St. John's game. They had limited practice time, but still shot hot from behind the 3 line. I think they had 11.
