Is $2200 really the going price of stud service for AKC registered hunting pedigreed dogs these days?

Pretty high, but they are asking for an option of pick of the liter as well, which that is common. I guess they can decide based on the quality of the bitch that is getting bred. Puppies can fetch that much from proven parents but that is getting extreme top end for a puppy or in this case, stud fee.
Breeding Labs is almost like breeding horses these days.
