Yes, because there's nothing better than fat unhealthy degenerates driving up healthcare costs for everyone with diabetes, lung cancer, heart disease, etc.

Why are you in a bar if you're so concerned with health? So, we should ban alcohol, fatty foods, and risky activities? That's not the governments call to make.

I pay for my own healthcare a-hole.

You do realize a bar is private property?

I might not have your papers of higher education but if you can't understand that one group of people trying to dictate to another group of people how they should live their life is wrong I can't do anything for you.

Private vs Public. Sorry if I missed some logic classes. I'd still defend you any day of the week if ya wanted to burn a flag. Don't agree with it. But would defend your right to do so in a PRIVATE establishment.

Nice rant that had absolutely nothing to do with my post.

The smoking ban is dumb. If people don't like smoke, they should go to a bar without smoke. If they don't like it, they can stop going there. Then businesses may ban smoking in their establishments. A bar isn't the fricking bus or grocery store. You go there to drink, be unhealthy and hang around degenerates. You don't need to be there.

i have a lot of potential subjects written out for a project i'm about to get off the ground. one skit i plan on making a regular thing is "how to win arguments with liberals", which is basically a way to sell a more libertarian world view

Uber being banned by lib-prog cities is one of my prime examples. I made a thread about it a while back.

The "I thought this was America" guys in this thread are such babies and narcissists. It's smoke, and it belongs outside because it's smoke. Nobody cares that you desperately need to apply this to Bill of Rights somehow.

and Uber

much more progressive and classically liberal

Nola is proving that its government is much more concerned with expanding its power over its population while BR is allowing its population more freedom in how it is allowed to choose for itself

you're 100% free to make that decision for your own property

i have no right to force you to allow smoking within your property

the same principle should apply the other way, though

God, you have a perverted sense of freedom. Tobacco is a legal product. You don't like it so you want the govt to DICTATE. Sick.

i truly wonder how many of the people saying this ban is a good thing also believe that marijuana should remain illegal or that the city should tell bars how late they can stay open. i would truly love to hear their arguments against either

or their thoughts on gay marriage

or their thoughts on Uber (as noted earlier)

or their thoughts on the CATS fiasco in BR

Tobacco precedes the Bill of Rights, without the tobacco plant, there would have been no reason for America to exist. Smoking is more American then apple pie, rock and roll and the Forth of July. When Thomas Jefferson spoke of the pursuit of happiness, he was specifically referring to being allowed to grow Tobacco and smoke it.

Now take your shitty Soviet flag and shove it...

I'm routinely amused by the antitobacco Nazis who cite health issues with cigarettes but love the idea of bongs. I don't smoke either but don't think they should be nearly this restricted.
