Which RNT call to get

Cabelas has their duck calls on sale and I was thinking about getting a new RNT call. Never purchased one but have always wanted to. I hunt mostly flooded timber. They have the timber hog, daisy slayer Diablo, and daisy cutter. Which would be best for where I hunt.

I can get you one that sounds as good or better for timber huntin for about the same price. And it will actually be hand turned and not spun off a CNC machine

I've never really understood why a certain mallard call is preferable for a particular location. Why wouldn't they all sound the same to a duck in the air?

How else they going to get people to buy more than one call? Similar to how fishing lures aren't designed to catch fish, they are designed to catch fishermen.

I have never heard a live Mallard hen hit a 20 note hail call but you have to have calls to do this for contests and such.
Seriously, I bought a wooden RNT about 3 weeks ago. It is badarse.

All about the "echo" of the call.

How does one call echo differently than another?

i have custom calls with different inserts TulaneUVA, ones open water and ones a timber call. they have different tones. just like a single and double reed call makes different tones.
OP go with the daisy cutter. its my favorite RNT call.

Ok. I get the tones and all that. But echo is a product of bouncing sound. I doubt there is any valid data to suggest a "timber" call used in timber will produce better results.

I don't know the science behind it but I know that calls sound different when I call them the same way compared to flooded timber and an open lake like on catahoula.

Agreed. It's just a ploy by these companies for you to spend more money for that site specific call.
