Harris is the guy now
Based off what???
Look, I don't care who starts, but I don't understand this "Harris is the guy" stuff. What exactly did Harris do in the SEC so much better than Jennings that makes him the starter hands down?
I hope one of them steps up, but I haven't seen anything that says it's going to be Harris.
As to how good can Jennings be next yr., I don't have a clue.

He can be a decent enough backup. Would be nice security.

You make a valid point. Harris has one good Qtr against an SEC team, 3 bad ones. While he looked better than Jennings ever has in that one qtr, it was against backups mostly. He does however have a much much greater talent level than AJ. Plus he hasn't shite the bed repeatedly. (Just once ) Jennings is a known liability. With Harris there is at least hope.

Because LSU has dramatically better play at every other position.

Zero evidence showing he will get better. None.
Every other starting QB we've had managed to get better. Why is Jennings incapable?

I think he will progress as well as JJ did between seasons.
oh dear.

We have seen what he is about. We have judged him and found him wanting.
People want someone with a higher ceiling. We are hopeful that Harris will calm down and be that guy.
No one thinks Jennings is a high ceiling guy. Everyone can still fantasize that Harris COULD be THAT guy.

And what positions are those??????
Going into next year.........

Russel had one year. Flynn had one year. JJ got worse. Mett is the only QB under miles to display improvement. Jennings has not improved in 14 games dating back to Iowa. What makes you think he is capable?
Posted on 1/18/15 at 10:56 am to boxcar willie
No reason I see to think that Jennings will ever be an effective QB. None.
Posted on 1/18/15 at 11:23 am to Mr. Wayne
Russell had two years and was better in '06 to '05. Lee was certainly better in '11 than in '08. Jefferson didnt have a very large sample size as a senior but he his numbers were better than as his sophomore year.

Jennings has been down at LSU since January 2013 enrolled and was there for the spring. If his light bulb has not clicked by now it's not about to start in 2015. Harris will now get to see his one year development since Jennings showed nothing but medicore passing skills after taking over for Mett. The 99 yard drive against ARK was obviously a fluke and beginners luck on that game and nothing more later on to prove otherwise.

Obviously Harris has the higher ceiling. Jennnigs has the ability to evolve into Jefferson, Lee, Flynn, or Mauck. Harris has the ability to evolve into Russell, Davey, or Mettenberger.
We can win a championship with either. Obviously everybody would prefer to start someone with Harris's potential, but if that potential isnt realized, Jennings can be effective for us.

Since you're so knowledgeable, what is your plan if Harris starts and struggles in 2015? Move on to McMillan or a true freshman?

And what qualifies you to make this assessment?
Its called 20/20 vision you flaming douche. Dissecting his weaknesses isnt exactly brain surgery.

Because his skill set to start with is way below average. Hes been in the system for a while and actually looks like he is regressing.
