I just don't see how it would help matters any. Yeah they got their revenge...but now their family only suffers more from it. And it doesn't change the fact that their child is still gone.
And I don't see how anyone could go about living their lives knowing that the piece of shite that killed their kid is walking around a free man.

FWIW, I would happily put money on your prison account to buy honeybuns and Kool-aid, and be your pen pal, and help "take care" of your ole lady while you're locked up.
P.S. - Your surviving kids are on their own, though. I don't take care of another man's kids.

And family is not prohibited from taking pics of him fwiw. The prison just wouldn't release recent photos of the guy to the family.
Sounds like they're worried about the possibility of them seeking retribution so maybe the revenge scenario isn't as far fetched as some believe.

would you rather leave your wife and daughter/son alone to live the rest of your life in a prison cell? Thats a pretty selfish thing to do......but hey look at least you killed someone so it's all worth it right?

They (she) won't be alone.

Why the frick are most Americans so obsessed with lengthy prison sentences?
He would have served about 10-12 years MAX in most of Europe.
I'm all for reducing/eliminating prison for non violent offenders but prisons should exist for people like subject of the thread. He should never be released.

First of all, I doubt there would be any financial struggle.
So you wouldn't be paying for a top lawyer to defend you? Or you have tons of money saved up to pay for that and to make up to your wife the loss of income you being in jail would mean? Not to mention the fact that you would have a hard time getting a decent job once you got out of jail(assuming you are alive by then) because you were a convicted murderer.

I'm pretty confident that it wouldn't be a life sentence.
So your answer is to just walk away and act like it never happened? Just let the guy go on about his business?

not, but would you KILL him in cold blood?

How a murderer is released is beyond me. If they won't keep him locked up for life they're not only doing the victim's family an injustice, but all of us. One of the rare instances I would applaud a murder. I hope his body turns up soon

My wife's family is more than capable of supporting her financially if the need arises. And as for work after jail, I could walk right back into my same job... you must forget that I work for my father-in-law. I'm pretty sure he'd be OK employing the guy who killed his grandchild's murderer.

That example is no good, tigerbaitn08 needs more specific examples of LSU fans who posted on TD that have killed the confessed murderers of their children.
How can we send hundreds of thousands of people to war against a group of people based on them having attacked our country and killed fellow citizens and then be incredulous about others stance to take revenge upon the murderer of their child. This simply does not add up.
Yes, several people posting in this thread would take definitive action against a person who intentionally murdered their child. Deal with it.

Here come all the hard asses that explain different ways they would torture and kill him. Ruining you and your remaining family lives' even further in the process
I am not saying I would torture and plan some elaborate murder of the guy, but I wouldn't be able to sleep very well knowing the guy who killed my little girl was a free man enjoying his life.
Would be very hard to control myself.
Issue here is, this guy will disappear from the public. Will probably move out of country, definitely out of state, and live in some random shite hole where no one will know who he is and no one can find him. That's what I'd do.

What's the alternative then? You say you wouldn't let him get away with it... yet you wouldn't kill him. What would you do write him a mean letter?

Give me 15 instances where this actually happened in the past 15 years?
Give you 15 instances where a child killer was released early, the parents hunted him down and killed him, the police investigated, fingered the parents, arrested them and there was a trial?
You've got us. I concede the point that the scenario isn't a weekly occurrence.

So revenge is more important to you than being a present father for your other living children? You would rather them grow up with their father in prison, your wife struggling financially to make ends meet cause you are in prison?
No jail time gurl:

death is the only acceptable answer

No shite... and I'd love to be on the jury at the trial for the person who kills him. No fricking way I'd vote guilty in a situation like that.

The world needs Dexter.
That's a fact.
That's a fact.

You're arguing logic versus emotions. You know that the two are polar opposites. Logic doesn't fit into this type of story because rage can easily overpower logic.
