No. Just no. Do not go to the beacon. Completely overrated. It's all grease.
Greenville is a 45 minute drive from Lake Hartwell. If OP doesn't mind that drive, I can recommend plenty of places.
If you're there on Saturday, go to Sadlers Creek BBQ for lunch. It's right near the lake.
You're not looking at much in close proximity. Mostly chains. Clemson/Pickens aren't known for food.

Jim driving is not an issue as we will have to go into Greenville daily for media events, weigh ins daily & the Expo. Be great to have your input as well. TIA
