this season?
One season does not make you elite.

This was by far Roth's best year.

Romo didn't need to pass nearly as much the past 2 seasons(look at his yards). The one recent year he threw for big yards he also threw for 19 picks.

Despite Manning's super hot start last year he has tapered off a lot at the end of both seasons(especially this year) and look especially poor at times this season.

This was Luck's first big year. He had under 25 tds and under 4,500 yards both of his first two seasons and has a sub 60% career completion percentage. He's also averaging over 14 ints a season.

Brady(minus last year) and Rodgers are the only two guys clearly better than Brees right now and have done it with any kind of consistency. Manning's time appears to be coming to an end. Is Brees'? Let's wait a year and see if he can bounce back like Brady did.

Edit:
Actually going back and looking at Brady, he still looks like he is on a downward trend(well, holding from last year).

Rodgers is clearly the best QB in the game right now. After that a lot of debate can be made but only a few guys have been consistently at the top(until recently) and they are Brees, Manning, and Brady.

The question was, is Brees still top 5. Looking at the most recent data would suggest that, no, he is not.
