Do they have access to a car or shuttle to get to Vail? If so sweet basil and Mountain standard are awesome. Also maybe more of a manly thing but there's a place called mintern country club where you cook your own steak, it's really good but obviously you usually don't want to go somewhere and cook yourself food. Also the restaurant in the ritz spago is a wolf gang puck restaurant and my buddy who works at the ritz says it's really good.

Other than that beware of eating anything on the mountain as lunch is 20 bucks per person basically regardless of what you get.
