Is it due to Oregon, the weekday, or a sign of the times given the terrible attendance at all bowls?
Probably all of the above. Oregon is the nouveau riche of college football. Fans all over the country who don't even know exactly where Oregon is.
Late start on a week day is terrible. Unless it is really a great game, I will be done by half time.

It just shows how much the NFL still dwarfs college football in broad appeal and mass popularity ..

Oregon couldn't even pack the house during the PAC 12 championship game in San Fran. Football just doesn't mean as much out there.

Does anyone know what the face value of a ticket is ?

True on the one hand, but could the NFL sell out playoff games in neutral sites thousands of miles from home?
Having only one neutral site game, where almost no tickets go the general public, makes a big difference.

That's embarrassing
In 2010/2011 I had to pay a grand for upper deck

Ours were $450 through the UofO. Their other price point was $650 for the club section of AT&T

No, just have the games leading up to the championship at on-campus venues
I like this. 8 team playoff with only the semi and championship games at bowl sites

I've been to two games there and stayed in Dallas - no problems whatsoever.

hopefully with the added capacity of Jerry World, more of the "real fans" can make it

I have a seat (not SRO) for 368, decent upper deck seat. Love the falling prices.

It doesn't surprise me. Asking fans to travel to two neutral site games in a row is crazy.
