I'm not going to argue with you because I haven't been to Seattle yet, but is it better than Denver in regards to a big city with lots of outdoor activities nearby?

yes and its not close IMO

Seattle has everything that Denver can offer, plus being on the coast, so you can add all the kayaking, boating, etc

Denver just has better weather and a more centralized location

Easily. In addition to two mountain ranges within an hour, you have lakes, rivers, heavily forested areas and salt water.
