R&O's or Chateau on the westbank for roast beef.
Bevi if you need both or oyster.
Best pho for me is pho bang on the westbank or Kim Anh's. Neither are near downtown.
Lots of good brunches atchafalya, patois, elizabeth's, appolline, surrey, cafe amelie, coquette, dante's...etc. None of these are must try, but all good.
