Waiters to OKC frees them up to move Jackson before the deadline. They won't be able to re-sign him so why not upgrade the roster for the second half of the season and get something in return for Jackson rather than letting him walk in FA.
Jackson for Jordan Hill and Jeremy Lin seems like decent move IMO. Thunder get a backup PG and a solid big for the Rotation and Jackson get the chance to be a starter.
