He's les miles without the quirkiness.

I would imagine the same names we heard Mattison, Durkin, Chizik, Shoop.

Do people posting him realize he's never been a DC?

According to USC, he has been. This is from usctrojans.com

He also was the defensive coordinator in 2010 and 2011 and then the assistant head coach starting in 2012

For the last fricking time Coach O has Zero experience as a D coordinator!

He would be a great d line coach if brick leaves

Nah I don't know him but I like up and comers who are innovative and fresh thinkers instead of some of the usual suspects whose names are being put out there.

Clancy is intriguing because he sat out a year and got to watch the game and tweak his style. We need a fresh approach; at this point ppl know exactly how to out scheme us because we are predictable on both sides of the ball.

The guy been around Defenses his whole life. And served as a HC. You think he's completely inept to calling a defense?

I lot of ppl may not have documented experience in a certain field. But even those who are currently successful had to start somewhere

The defensive coordinator of last year national champions was in his first year calling a defense. Look how it turn out for him.

Ya gotta take Orgeron, spent enough time with Monty to Dc any team... The guy makes kids run through walls to play...the kids at USC are still trying to get the new coach to go get him back...he would shite Nick out of the state of Louisiana..I know nick only gets a few but he seems to get the best ones....O has a rep for pulling those top recruits from Miami and all of Florida all the way across the country to USC...
He is a workout fanatic, no drinking, no smoking, donates tons of money to local schools around town....he will be the first to tell you about the mistakes he made at Ole Miiss and turn around and say, yep I did it a lot different when he got the shot at USC...I've seen him around recruits....they flock to him.....he's from South Louisiana....he's one of us.....go get his arse!!!!

Miles really liked Pelini so I bet he gets a phone call.

Bo Pelini loathes Les Miles. He still talks to people I know in Louisiana, and he does not hide it (not surprising). Bo has never been one to mince words. He felt Miles interfered too much with his gameday tactics (not surprising either).

On the bright side that will only accelerate Leslie's departure from LSU.

Everyone does realize that our Head Coach is a glorified position coach, actually can you imagine how bad our offense would be if he was our OC? I would prefer O as DL coach but we have been irrelevant for 3 years and this staff needs a shake up. The problem we have goes beyond DC though, our HC does not have the ability to recruit and develop a competent quarterback. I say it's our HC because we are in our third OC and it looks exactly the same as before. Every coordinator has to have a team that hired them first, Ok St hired Miles as OC in 95.

And that is why Bo is coaching for 200k a year now, because he is hot head who doesn't mince words.

I don't like Bo, he is classless... and ungrateful and now he is will drift off into irrelevance for the rest of coaching career

he better save that 6 million N is paying him

Sorry about that guys, your right I strayed there for a couple of sentences. I'm a former Marine grunt so I'm not the brightest bulb in the bunch. To get to the point I would love a Venables or Durkin hire and would love O as a DL coach and recruiter. I'll stay on topic, our offense just sticks in my damn head.

I will not shed any tears over Chavis' departure. Yes, he is a good coach, but when the game is on the line in the 4th quarter, his track record at LSU has been iffy at best.
