My favorite part of the Sears catalog is that it didn't matter what year catalog you ordered from, if it was in-stock, you got it -- and at the price listed.
My grannie used to have the 1981-1986 catalogs and we'd just study them and memorize pages and start making Christmas lists in the summer.
I remember putting stuff from the Empire Strikes Back on my Christmas list in 1986 and sure enough come Christmas morning, Dagobah, Troop Transporter, Hoth Playset...etc...
Awesome.
Also, Back in 1986, I asked for the Electric Football set wanting the Bears/Patriots combo.
Sears sent a Cowboys/Steelers set.
Can't imagine how long that had been in the warehouse.
