Where does it say lopez is that highly regarded? Could you link?
I mean the blazers have Matthews/Batum/Aldridge(who's a very good post defender)
How much is it due to lopez or the talent around him?

I'm not saying Lopez is some defensive beast. But he's been very good at protecting the rim in Portland on 2 good defenses. That is important.
The Blazers have a good wing defender in Batum that NO doesn't, but Davis and Holiday are better than Aldridge and Matthews. I don't think their talent is that much better.
To me, Lopez's success is a damming indictment of Monty's scheme. Lopez looked like a clown often in NO. Not so much in Portland
