Underperforming next season means being more than one game out of first in the west. If west champ is 7-1, LSU has to be 6-2 in order to not underperform.

1. Miles' seat is not even warm much less hot. His bosses have no thought of terminating Les now or next year. Miles' seat will become warm to hot only when LSU starts losing profit from football games, ie when ticket sales decrease or attendance decreases in a major way. Dr Alexander, the BOS, and Alleva don't look at wins and losses, they look at LSU Football as a cash cow and as long as it produces, Les is safe.

Where do you get your information?

Said it in another thread, but
IF LSU does not make the playoffs AND it is because of poor QB play from Jennings, Miles will be coaching for his job in '16.

1. depends on how many draft eligibly players return
2. It is hard to say playoffs of bust. We play in the toughest country int he division. Would you want Les Miles fired if he lost 2 games? or 1 but didn't make the 4 team cut off because there were 4 undefeated teams including the SEC champ?

I don't think Ole Miss will be HELL

10 out of the last 15 years, 7 out of the last 10 years, and 4 out of the last 5 years, that game has been decided by 7 points or less. They bring back 5 of their top 6 WRs, two of which, have twice as much yardage and receptions and the same amount of TDs as Dupre. They bring back the TE Engram who had 650 yards and 2 TDs. They bring back all of the RBs, plus the #14th RB Eric Swinney for their 2015 class. They also bring back 4/5ths of the OL. Now they do lose two in the secondary and two on LB, but they have the top JUCO corner and the #4 JUCO LB signed and should be early enrolles. They also have the #1 ILB in Leo Lewis.

Right now, I'd say toss up. Ask me again 5 games into next season.

Nothing less than meeting these three criteria are acceptable, IMO.

So basically in short make the playoffs.

No. Only 4 teams make the playoffs, and one of them--the best college football team/program in America--plays in our division. Plus, without significant improvement at the QB position, we're looking at another 3-or-4 loss season. 9-3/5-3 would be a pretty decent 2015 for LSU, given our QB situation--not underperforming based on the talent on the field.

the thing is, it's hard to say what would get us into the playoffs, other than wins. if we beat bama but have the same win-loss record at the end of the year, it would be pretty easy to foresee them getting their bama bump into the playoffs over us.

I don't expect to beat Alabama.

i expect to beat bama every year. you, sir, are a coward.

I will be dissappointed if its anything less than 10 wins so I fully expect LSU to be right in the middle of the playoff convo.

As long as the mentality is
A) wait til next year we lost lots of players
B) no on is better than Bama... Deal with it
C) Miles has a great career winning pct.
D) the games sell out even though 35% of the seats are empty...
Nothing will change. Miles will have to implode to get run off and he's never going to fall that far.

He 'll recruit well enough to win 70% and the majority will say it's good enough. Remember the 90's? We can't get do better.

And the rest will slowly become apathetic.

Does it matter? Who was their QB going into 2008 or 2010 or 2012? All first year starters right? Don't take those guys lightly.

Don't ever take them lightly, but based on record this year and returning starters, I really like us. Also have a really good feeling about Leo Lewis. Just a feeling, no source.
