Pretty sure you're premise of 49ers won't hold onto him because they will lose face is ridiculous. If JH wanted to go to Michigan he could at any time right? 9ers would be off hook for his $5 million owed next year. Also any business as the 49ers are, will look to get the most of out their asset even if teams don't offer high draft pick, any draft pick is better than firing him. He doesn't want to be there anymore than they want him there. This is all ploys to get best job in NFL for him. If not he would be gone next Monday to UM. And I doubt being in same market is going to affect them trading to Raiders, each have their own rabid fan bases and NFL is shared revenue to an extent so it doesn't matter much. Just my two cents.

I don't understand why it would not already be announced if he is going to Michigan? Wouldn't Harbaugh want to try to salvage the recruiting class, get some buzz etc? The 49ers are out, why hold on to him if he is going to college?

Doesn't make sense unless this is all manipulation from the Harbaugh camp. I think Harbaugh's camp is putting the screws to the 49ers with leaks, trying to goad them into responding in the most heavy handed way possible.

If I am Baalke I laugh about all of this, the 49ers have the leverage here. Why give leverage up until you have to? Why work on Michigan's schedule? Why give any professional courtesy to Harbaugh whatsoever?

The 49ers can hold onto him, deny all offers, park him until all other jobs are filled, pay him to sit and promote Roman to HC for a year.

If Harbaugh quits then they don't owe him shite.

no. i did not say 49ers hold on jh is for losing faces or not.

Read carefully.
Peacefully and quickly to part ways is the best choice for both 49ers and JH. Both gained in business sense and at the same time, both look honorable.

JH wants to coach the last game. He does not want to quit because he may come back to NFL in the future. Michigan offer is good til Jan 1. He can not drag on any longer.

Michigan will have the coach ready before school resumes on jan 4th.

so JH need this to be solved before Jan 1st. any NFL teams that are interested in JH need to move quick. the team need to contact 49ers, fire their coach and start interview black coach. also you need to make sure you really like JH. the time window is too small.

the one team i am worrying most is falcons. they have money and the roster is good. so we michigan fans should pray for falcons making the playoff. at the same time, i doubt falcons will commit to JH without lengthy interview.

Raiders is the least i am worrying about. That organization is stupid always chasing the hot girls. 49ers would like to see raiders suck as long as possible. yes. they have their own fan base. but how about the young kids who just start watching football. it is always easier to root for a winner than a loser.
